There's a few things you'll want to have for your first appointment: Bring your ID, insurance card, and a prescription from your doctor (if you have one). Wear comfortable clothes, as your therapist may have you perform some light stretches and exercise. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your evaluation.
How Long are the appointments?
An evaluation may take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes so please plan accordingly. Follow-up appointments are typically 55-minutes long.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with most insurances, but not all. For further questions regarding insurance coverage, please call our office at 717-691-8300.
What if my insurance doesn't cover Physical Therapy?
You may be able to use your Out-of Network Benefits if we do participate with your insurance provider. We also offer a self-pay option to those who do not have insurance coverage. Please call our office at 717-691-8300 to learn more.
Will I have to do a lot of exercises to do at home?
We understand that our patients lead busy lives, so we try to minimize “Home Exercises” by giving you a limited number of exercises or 'other homework' that you should be able to fit into your daily schedule. Home programs will always be designed for your specific needs.
What does a pelvic Floor Examination and treatment sessions look like?
The examination and treatment will depend on your symptoms and comfort level. Our Pelvic Health therapists are licensed to perform internal exams that allow for diagnosis and guides treatment. We focus on the evaluation of muscle strength, function, and integrity. Please feel free to call our clinic with any questions.
How long do people do Physical Therapy? When will I see results?
The length of your plan of care will depend on your diagnosis, and the frequency with which you complete the exercises/activities your therapist prescribes between visits. The more compliant a patient is with their 'home program' the quicker he/she will see results and meet their goals. After you are evaluated your therapist will have a better understanding of your specific issues and should be able to give you a more accurate estimate of what your timeline might look like.
